The first time I tried turtle pie, I remember asking why it was called that. Someone said that it’s got a chocolate shell and it’s smooshy inside. Accurate description, but I don’t want to picture a literal turtle being baked into a pie. Mine has a graham crust, silky and creamy chocolate with hints of caramel, and topped with roasted pecans and dark chocolate bits.
